Melissa began her studies in alternative medicine over ten years ago. Her love of the outdoors led her to pursue her B.A in Geography. While doing conservation work in Arizona and Southern California she became interested in plants and their natural medicinal properties. She went on to study with herbalists in both these states as well as Colorado. Her interest in the healing powers of herbs and nutrition then lead her to study with Naturopathic Physicians and Chiropractic Doctors in California, Oregon, and Hawaii. Through these experiences, she learned about natural detoxification methods and clean living, and their importance in maintaining overall health.
Melissa believes that one can achieve optimal health through a natural integrative approach. Melissa combines her knowledge of Eastern medicine and alternative Western modalities to help her patients achieve their health goals. Through the use of acupuncture, massage, herbal medicine, nutrition and supplementation, as well as lifestyle changes, Melissa offers a holistic approach to health and wellbeing tailored specifically to each patient. Melissa uses a gentle needling technique in order to ensure a comfortable healing experience for each patient.
